His injury forced him to be out of the league for some time but eventually got back. After recovering from injury, he did not get enough playing time. In 2005, he left the Colts and went on to join other teams. In 2006, Pyatt joined three different teams including St. Louis Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Miami Dolphins. After exhausting all possibilities to get more playing time and not being able to do so, Pyatt decided to leave NFL. In 2007, he joined the Arena Football League (AFL), an indoor football league. He played for his hometown’s team, Colorado Crush. In 2008, he left AFL and decided to retire from playing professional football.
